09 OCT: NEW SERIES OF WATERSPORTS DAY LAUNCHED
Yesterday's dinghy sailing and watersports event at El Portet, the first in the new Autumn series, was a great success! The sunny conditions and onshore breeze made for enjoyable but still challenging sailing, drawing a strong turnout from new and long-standing club members alike. 06 OCT: DAY CHARTER FROM DENIA
On a warm, but grey Monday morning, we met up at Bar Malavita in Denia marina for the first CBYA day charter after the summer break. After meeting our skipper for the day, Paul, we boarded S/V Sol y Luna, a Jeanneau 44.9. We cast off and headed for Javea bay to moor at Cala Sardinera and eat our packed lunches. 05 OCT: MEET THE TOMS EVENT
In order to stimulate interest in TOM sailing, the CBYA held a "Meet the TOMs" event at Real Club Nautico Calpe. RCNC has 6 TOM 28 yachts available for hire and 23 club members signed up for the event. But with only 3 skippers available, we had to restrict the sailing to 3 TOMs, which meant each person got about an hour's sailing time on the water. 27 SEP: 5-CLUBS REGATTA LA VILLA
The first event of the autumn of the 5-Clubs series was at La Villa Marina, Villajoyosa on Saturday 27th September. Very light winds were forecast for the morning and this was reflected in the number of boats that turned up to race - only 26 boats in total and the majority were small boats in class D.
